JLT, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, is an area in Dubai where we lived. The constructions of JLT started in 2001 and in less than 10 years 80 building were erupted. The area is divided into 26 Clusters, named from  A-Z. Each Cluster contains 3 buildings with a big parking. In the beginning, JLT was constructed along the edges of four artificial lakes; however, some time ago one of the lakes was converted into a very nice park, full of green lawns and playgrounds for kids. JLT is located between two metro stations, Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Dubai Marina (recently changed to Damac Properties), which makes it a very convenient place to live, even without a car. It takes around 30 minutes to get to financial center, the downtown of Dubai, by metro and maybe 20 minutes by car. JLT is like a mini town, there are apartments, offices, supermarkets and service shops. It’s a very nice place to live, especially for families with kids, as the middle part of JLT is a park with couple of playgrounds, sports fields and running tracks. We are lucky to live in the central part of JLT, right next to the park. In our cluster there are two small supermarkets and more than five restaurants and coffees. You can find almost everything here. As I live and work in JLT, sometimes I don’t need to leave it for the whole week.

I have shops, restaurants, coffees, beauty salons, car rentals, tailors, gyms, bars, etc. During the winter there are many events organized in the park like movie projections, flea markets and others. And it’s really neat and beautiful, with quite a lot of green zones, which is not very typical for Dubai. The prices of the apartments are not the cheapest and change quite often, but still I think it’s worth it, as it’s one of the best areas in Dubai.
